Blog Name Change - Facebook Page - Other Updates

As you probably have noticed the blog has a new name. Enchanted Dreams Reborn Nursery & Boutique.
Still the same info just new name.

Also have a new Work In Progress going on. This is the Megan Sculpt. We are almost finished with the painting process and will begin the rooting process. :)

Sugar Sculpt by Donna RuBert is Done!

She is done and ready to be entered in the Fair! Yay! 

Two things that I am missing and are on order a bigger basket and a Lavender blanket. Should hopefully be here sometime next week.

Her dress, bloomers and booties were crocheted by me and her little bracelet was also made by me :)

I will not be using the pacifier for her presentation at the fair. I am still undecided on the bow. Below are pictures of her without the bow. Decisions, Decisions. Some people are for the bow and some aren't.

Think I Am Going To.....

Enter my Sugar Sculpt into the county fair. 

I was going to put her in my Etsy shop but thought "Wait a minute, the fair is coming and would love to enter her" 

Here she is rooted, waiting for the sealant inside her head to dry. While I am waiting for that I am crocheting her dress and booties set.  I have until Aug. 15th to get her in. I think I just might make the deadline. 

Keeping fingers crossed for a Blue Ribbon on this one. Then she will be up for sale. I am nervous but super excited.

Also realized in 4 days the competition voting will begin for another reborn I had done but was not allow to show. So we shall see how that competition goes. As soon as the final results of the voting is in and the winner announced I will will be posting her. :)

I think she turned out so cute. As soon as I get her outfit done and her all put together, I will be posting her photo shoot.

Custom Crochet and Work In Progress Reborn

Busy, Busy! But a very good busy. I can work and play at the same time lol

Lots of custom crochet in the works and a couple of reborns. I love when I can take my hobbies and turn them into business.

Also in the works is a new website. So heads up...Soon I will be changing the name on the blog. :) 

Here is one custom outfit that I got done. I think it turned out adorable.  These are not black and white photos. She did ask for the colors to be Gray and White. lol 

She wanted a sweater that would come to the waist of the ruffled diaper cover
so the ruffles would show.

This is the Sugar Sculpt by Donna RuBert. I adore this sculpt. Here she is and still has a ton more layers that are needing to be done. :)

She is being done with Genesis Heat Set Paints...Got a new oven YAY!!! Still don't like air dry paints. I have tried two different kinds of air dry and they still are horrible in my opinion. Can't get the depth, or blend, or even the same colors like you can with Genesis Heat Set Paints. I am staying with heat sets :)

Busy in the Reborn Community :)

Whew, been crazy busy with custom orders coming in for crochet clothing and for a couple of reborn dolls to be made. Got a couple more crochet baby/reborn sets up in the shop. 

According to all my postal tracking numbers, the postman is going to be busy with my mail tomorrow. Everything is being delivered tomorrow. Yarn and reborn doll kits LOL

Taking a Break from Reborning

So I decided to take a little break from reborning and started to do some crocheting for the Reborn World. 

Legwarmers seem to be the big hit with the Reborn Artists. I have sold many sets and plan on making many more. These legwarmers never made it to my Etsy shop. lol

I call them Ruffles and Bows Leg Warmers. These have sold already and have been shipped. But more is coming. I am always open for orders. If interested comment or send me a message. :)

The baby I created Little Emily which is the Paisley Sculpt by Denise Pratt is not for sale. She is just modeling the set so you can see how they look on a Reborn. These also can work on real babies :)

Their size is Newborn.  Again these have been sold but can always make more to the colors you would like!

Ok - I am now happy with this sculpt. Wow...what a challenge she was. I am going back to heat set paints. Shopping for a new oven and will be back in business.

Little Aubrey - Painting is finished

Finally got the painting done on this sculpt. I think I am starting to become happy with the outcome. After many more layers of air dry paints I think I have got her skin tones and such to where I would like them to be. I may hit some areas with the heat set paints and use the heat gun to set them.

One thing I have learned. You can paint over the air dry with heat set paints but not the other way around. Just like the old saying...Oil and water don't mix well. I tried using the heat set matte varnish as the very first layer to seal the kit and hopefully the matte varnish would grab the paints a bit better. No Go!!! The air dry would not stick. That is where oil and water don't mix well. 

Really need to get a new oven. I miss using heat set paints. I gave air dry paints another chance and still don't like them for painting a reborn. Just can't get the effect with air dry like you can with heat set.

Here she is all painted and has the lines marked on her head with chalk to start her rooting. :) If she turns out like I vision her to turn out...She will be up for sale in my Etsy Shop --- Keeping fingers crossed. I will not sell a reborn doll if I see one thing wrong with it. In my eyes the baby needs to be PERFECT!!!! :)

Time to give this little girl some hair. I am going to use a baby brown colored mohair and this mohair has some curl to it. Still contemplating if I am going to hand root her eyelashes or give her fake ones. I find the fake lashes make some sculpts look too dolly. Still thinking.

Took forever to get this skin tone. I have lost count on how many layers of paint I have on this baby. I am thinking way over 75 layers. 

Still need to tweak the lips. Not happy with the lip color. 

Aubrey Reborn Kit - Work In Progress

Finished my Challenge Contest Reborn. Won't be able to post any pictures until voting has been done, which will be done July 31st.

Started working on a new sculpt that has been giving me a time. She has been stripped of paint numerous times and restarted numerous times. 

One of my biggest problems...Air Dry Paints!  I am having oven troubles and decided to try a new brand of air dry paints. Much better than the ones I used two years ago. One problem with air dry paints... Not able to blend like the heat set. Plus way more layers than heat set paints. This kit so far has over 50 layers and still many more to go.

But here she is so far. I am hoping I can get happy with the results. Just not happy with this sculpt. I do know that as soon as you root the hair, put in the eyes and do the eyelashes...That is when the sculpt really changes. So I am keeping fingers crossed. :)

Challenge Contest I Entered

I decided to take my skills as a Reborn Artist and enter a challenge that is being done on a forum I belong too.

She is done but I can't post pictures of her until the voting is finished and they announce the winner - July 31st. This wait is killing me LOL 
But here is a picture of the sculpt that I bought and painted.
This picture is NOT my work, She is a new sculpt that was just released the end of May. I bought the kit and decided to take the plunge into the Challenge Contest.

So keep fingers crossed that I might win. I know I am going up against some pretty good artists on the forum.

This picture was taken from the Bountiful Baby Website and this is the Prototype of Celeste created by another Artist. This picture is what I fell in love with for this sculpt.

Probably next week after my company leaves and such, I am hoping to get started on another reborn that I can show pictures of. :)

My Etsy Shop is Officially Open For Business!!!

Finally I have gotten my Etsy Shop set up and open. I had to change the name to Stitches N More Boutique since someone had my Hooks, Needles and Stitches title.

This name will cover all that I will be offering in my little online boutique.

Right now I have my Denim Jean Purses up and more will be added as I make them. I am also going to be offering Reborn Dolls.
