Rooting Update

So I thought I would post an update to my rooting the hair on
Sugar, who is now named Autumn Rose.
I have started the 2nd week of rooting. Like I said, I root 3-4 hours a day. This process is long, tedious but the outcome of rooting 1-2 hairs at a time is what makes this vinyl doll come to "Life"

I have one more section to do and then we are off to hand rooting the eyelashes. Then it will be sealing the hair and eyelashes so they don't fall out. Then I will add a couple of magnets to the inside for her pacifier and hair bow and then the final step is putting her all together with poly fiberfill and tiny glass beads to give her her weight.

This is the kit of Sugar before any paint or hair. This was the first step to her reborning. A nice soapy bath to begin the painting process.

Back of her head and swirl - The holes will close when I do a final heating of the head. Even though I used a warm rice sock in her head to make for easier rooting, this section was as hard as concrete to root. But I am confident with a final heating the holes will close.

Another view of the back of her head. Still have one section to go.

The side.

The top.

A better view of her swirl.

The front.

Completed side.
